FAQ and Project Information Review
To our Neighbors,
Thank you for your continued interest in this project.
The application has been submitted and deemed complete by staff. The land use review will begin shortly and the project will be scheduled in front of the Historic Preservation Commission in the new year.
We invite you to join us to review the FAQ, renderings, and project parameters next week:
First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone who was able to make it to one of our meet and greets – it was nice to start putting faces with names.
We wanted to let you know that the application has been submitted to the City of Aspen and is currently being reviewed for completeness. Once it is deemed complete we will update the website to include the application and renderings, but in the meantime, we have posted an FAQ that covers some of project parameters.
This will be a living document that we will update as the project progresses.
Thank you all for registering with us.
Sincerely,
The 1020 East Cooper Project Team
Project Introduction
The 1020 East Cooper project is a 100% affordable housing project that balances multiple community goals including historic preservation, affordable housing, environmental sustainability, and local community character. 1020 East Cooper will restore a historic 19th century miner’s cabin and add a new detached building along the alley to house a mix of two and three bedroom units.
The miner’s cabin is proposed to be fully restored, preserved, and converted into two housing units with a full basement. The new detached building contains three units and is carefully designed to fit into the context of the neighborhood. Onsite surface parking is accessed off the existing alley and each unit is proposed to have assigned exterior storage.
1020 East Cooper project creates the unique opportunity for working locals to live in a vibrant multi-family neighborhood and to be walking distance to downtown.
